Matthew 18:1-5
At this time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greateset in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one child like this in My name welcomes Me."
New thought here on this verse... what does it mean to be "like" a little child? What is a little child "like"? Besides the normal answer (innocent and trusting) here for this verse, just think for a moment about the last time you were around small children. What were they doing? And what were they "like" when they were doing it? When this question was posed to me I began to think of my own precious children playing at the park as we had just been there earlier. The words that came to my mind were "free", "happy", "giggly", and thoughts of how they did not have one ounce of concern about how they looked or what someone else thought of them.
Maybe this verse is talking about that very same thing... maybe when we become worry-free of our status in other's eyes, we will begin to understand Christ's point here.
Just a thought! :)
Sweet One!
I want to be free and happy and giggly in You! How blessed we are to only have One to consider in matters of our performance! And how blessed I am to live in His grace! Oh how...
I love You, too!
